Why Should Your Child Join The Society of Young Magicians, Assembly #42?
Even if your child has never done a magic trick before, he or she can benefit from joining the Society of Young Magicians (S.Y.M.).
Magic is a wonderful way for children to:
overcome shyness
develop self esteem
learn the discipline of practicing
gain public speaking skills
develop a natural inclination for performing
interact with other kids who may not be interested in activities that require athletic skills
have fun!
Magic is an activity that can be started in elementary school, continued through high school and even become a lifelong hobby. And college admissions officers always find it interesting to see "magic" listed as an activity on a college entrance application.
At the Society of Young Magicians, we have professional magicians who volunteer their time to teach children ages 7 - 17 the art of performing magic. We offer coaching in stage, close up and comedy magic for children with absolutely no experience to those who are more advanced.
Every child is welcome at the S.Y.M. meetings. Children can choose to observe or participate and perform as they feel comfortable.
The S.Y.M. #42 in Stamford meets one Saturday per month during the school year at the Villa Maria Educational Center. We keep the cost for joining our group considerably below comparable activities to make it accessible to all.
